No Evening Service This Sunday

December 1st at Beacon

We had a blessed day in church on Sunday.

In the morning we began a series of messages leading up to Christmas entitled, A Worthwhile Celebration. Christmas is a busy time of year, filled with planning, gatherings, and gifts making some question if it is really worth all the fuss. Though much of the busyness is due to the commercialism of the season, when we stop and think about why Jesus came, we realize that it is worth all the celebration! Our message for Sunday morning was entitled, Hope in Despair, focusing on the promise made in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3:15. Though Adam and Eve had really messed up in disobeying God’s Word, there was cause for hope, because God promised to deliver mankind. It is this promise, fulfilled in Jesus Christ, which is still cause for great joy and celebration today because it brings hope to all.

On Sunday night, we had a message from the book of Ezra. In Ezra 7:10, it is noted that Ezra prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord. How our hearts were challenged to prepare ourselves to hear from God, to practice what He shows us in His Word, and to share it with others. We trust the message, A Prepared Heart, will be a blessing to you.

If you have any questions or comments about the messages, or about eternity, we invite you to contact us – we would love to be a blessing to you.
