Today was the 10th anniversary of Beacon Baptist Church. As we celebrated this milestone, our thoughts and attention were taken back to the 1st service, and why Beacon Baptist Church was started. In the sermon entitled, Why Beacon Baptist Church? after a little history of the church, Pastor Wyatt preached about the distinctives that brought about Beacon Baptist Church – the Manuscript, the Message, the Mission, and the Manner.
Someone has said that you can tell how important something is to someone by how much it takes to stop them. When Nehemiah led the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem, they faced opposition and difficulties, yet the job was completed. The secret to the completion of the task is found in Nehemiah 4:6, the people had a mind to work. The church has a job to do too, and in order for it to be successfully completed, the members of the church need to have A Mind to Work, listen to the parallels from Nehemiah in tonight’s message.
