This morning in our study of Matthew, we concluded chapter 16. Last week, we looked at the profession of Peter that Jesus was the Christ, and Jesus’ triumphant statement that He would build His church. On the heels of those statements, the tone changes dramatically as Jesus shares with His disciples the cost of the church, and the cost of true discipleship. Tonight we continued with the theme of Jesus’ statement to build His church. Is the church still relevant? Should the church be changed to accommodate our modern society?
